Yesterday's daily special! A ride on the Pie - with saddle. The whipping wind and farmer's tractor caused a few feisty bucks but the saddle helped keep me aboard.
These burrs were in his tail before our ride. I got them all out but there will be more waiting for me today.
Back out in the middle pasture with goldenrod and best friend.
And here is my sweet tennis girl on the right with her teammates and friends. The team is undefeated and so is Maizie in singles - 10-0!
Great for Maizie. Sounds like college scholarship material.

PS: Well done to stay on.
Thanks Dan! It was a bit dicey for a second there!
DeleteNow it's time to leave the capsule if you da-a-a-are...
ReplyDeleteGood job sticking with Pie, and tell Maizie she rocks!!
Ikr? Gotta love Bowie. Thanks about the Pie near-fall and I'll tell Maizie - she is on a roll.
DeleteHi Juliette. You can watch the helicopter footage of the CO flood. I'm told the horse at the beginning is the same one seen being rescued at the end. No harm done. All the livestock look like they are trapped at the highest point they could get to, but enduring well. Especially the cattle; just standing around in water. But it is an amazing amount of water to see.
ReplyDeleteThe Golden Rod in your picture makes it look very fall-like. Are you seeing signs of fall yet? We are still chilly with light rain today, but supposed to warm up and get bright and sunny in next couple of days. Hopefully this state will dry out soon.
Oh, Once Upon - thank you. What you all have been through - first fires, now this! Thoughts and prayers and hope that your rain is done.
DeleteGoldenrod is really in bloom here - yes, many autumn colors. I hope to post more photos and video of a goldenrod ride.
I love your graphics!!!! What great photos of happiness--reading your blog is like getting my vitamin D :)
ReplyDeleteLook at those cute girls! How wonderful! Bah! Those burs! We see a lot of burrs too on the horses in the BP--even in their forelocks! I hope you have been having good riding weather. Such a relief to have some crisp days after those sweltering summer days. I think this is the weather the horses love the most...with the exception of the bugs! we still have some flies and a tick or two milling around. Insects, please go away!
